Topic: Should United States enforce military sanctions on Iran to prevent its ongoing nuclear program?

It is an undisputable fact that a nuclear war will bring unimaginably devastating consequences, which might afflict everlasting damages, affecting the whole world. Therefore, any possibility of a nuclear weapons development in a country with reasons and intentions to use the weapons against other countries should be eradicated with military sanctions in order to safeguard the world peace.

International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) warned Iran several times to stop the expansion of the nuclear program. However, despite the warnings, Iran rapidly increased its nuclear power facilities, doubling the number of enrichment centrifuges. IAEA basically speaks for the United Nations (UN), which is a world-wide organization consisting of almost every country on Earth, and the fact that Iran defied IAEA means that Iran also defied the world’s stance on nuclear power. Moreover, Iran has been hostile towards its neighboring country, Israel, for so many years that their history goes back to the ancient times. Although Iran has been saying that the nuclear development program is only for the medical purposes, Iran has more than enough reasons to develop nuclear weapons and possibly start a war.

Many anti-war activists and pacifists stated that economic sanctions are the only ways to pressure Iran to stop the nuclear program and they have been put to use for nearly 3 years. However, instead of fulfilling its purpose of stopping the nuclear program, the economic sanctions provoked Iran and boosted the program. The fact that Iran doubled the enrichment centrifuges just last month clearly explains that the economic sanction method is not working. Although many proponents are arguing that the problems would be solved if the current economic sanctions are strengthened, it is foolish to hope for a failed solution to work just by adding few extra details to it. Also, economic sanctions can cause some fatal damages to Iran. The effects of economic sanctions do not go away quickly. They can leave lasting damages to the country’s economy and innocent civilians will suffer the consequences of losing their jobs and economic capability.

On the other hand, military sanctions are a lot briefer and more effective than economic sanctions, which cause unnecessary damages to civilians. Military sanction is not waging a full-on attack against Iran. Rather, the US military should use air strikes and focus on annihilating just the nuclear facilities of Iran. By doing this, it will minimize the permanent effect on Iran and show more promising results. It is true that military intervention will cause some deaths of civilians. However, the results would be a lot more effective in preventing a possible nuclear war.

Military sanctions are more effective and more humane that the economic sanctions. It is hypocritical to sacrifice so many civilians with long-lasting consequences just to intervene with the nuclear problems. Also, the economic sanctions have been ineffective for a long period of time that strong measures such as military sanctions are necessary.

Topic: Should chemical castration be allowed?

Choice is something that is made, not forced. Especially in the cases of sex offenders, they made their own decisions of harassing and even raping the helpless victims. These kinds of sex offenders, such as rapists and child molesters, chose with their own will to commit sexual crimes. Therefore, they should take responsibilities for what they have chosen to do and for the good of the offenders, chemical castration should be allowed. Chemical castration is a very reasonable and probably the most efficient way of handling such sex offenders. Comparing to other harsh punishments that can be sentenced to the sex offenders, chemical castration is a very humane measure to handle the offenders. Also, it is considered as the most effective way of restraining the offenders from committing sexual crimes again.

Sex offenders are major criminals and the laws show them no mercy or leeway. They can be sentenced to spend the rest of their lives in prisons or be physically castrated, meaning that their reproductive ability will be lost forever. However, chemical castration is neither as harsh nor permanent as life imprisonment and physical castration. Chemical castration is reversible when treatment is discontinued and the offenders can live normally among other people without having to worry about their uncontrollable sexual desire. Some critics say that chemical castration is inhuman due to its effect of changing a human nature. However, sex offenders tend to continuously display abnormally strong sexual desire, so it is reasonable to sentence them with chemical castration in order to prevent any further sexual crimes.

Chemical castration is considered by over 60 percent of the medical experts as the most effective and the most ethical way to prevent the former sex offenders from repeating their past misdeeds. It is true that physical castration is the best way to restrain the sex offenders. However, the method itself is too harsh and the risk of castrating a suspect, convicted of false charge, is too high. Other lenient measures, such as electronic anklet and mental rehabilitation, were tried in the past, but they did not work out well due to the fact that the sexual desire was too extreme for the offenders to suppress. Chemical castration directly helps the offenders to control their sexual desire without permanently taking away their reproductive ability, so it is widely considered as a very effective and rather humane method to handle the aftermath of the former sex offenders.

Chemical castration should definitely be permitted as one of the punishments for the sex offenders due to its efficiency and ethical characteristics. Majority of the experts in the field of medical science agreed upon the good efficiency of chemical castration. Also, chemical castration allows the former offenders to blend in with others without many difficulties. Therefore, chemical castration would not only ensure the safety of the civilians, but also allow the offenders to live more stable lives.

Topic: Is it best to forget about past mistakes as soon as possible?

Mistake is the mother of success. This saying is used so often all around the world that it is considered almost as a cliché. However, a cliché is not necessarily false or unreliable. In fact, people actually do learn a great deal from their past mistakes. By making some mistakes, people get to actually experience and learn things first handedly. Also, countless mistakes get accumulated and eventually pay off at the end. Although the past mistakes can be hurting and painful to recall, people should not just forget them as soon as possible and try to move on with their lives without gaining anything from their past mistakes. They should try to learn from their mistakes and try not to make the same mistakes over again.

There is nothing better than the first-hand experience in acquiring knowledge and learning to do new things. When teaching young children about something new, the teachers make them participate in fun activities, because children learn the fastest when they are actually doing something by themselves. The reason why new education methods that emphasize first-hand experiences are rising is due to its effectiveness and long lasting quality. When making mistakes, people are naturally participating in first-hand activities, which would provide them with efficient and long lasting experiences. By gaining these experiences, people become able to learn and remember new things through the past mistakes they have made.

Number of mistakes made, when someone tries to do something new or innovative, represents the amount of effort he or she put in. Thomas Edison, who invented the light bulb, is a very good exemplary figure for learning and growing by overcoming the countless mistakes he made during his experimentations. He once quoted “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb in his first try. He was able to invent the light bulb due to the countless mistakes he made, accumulated together as a great deal of experience and his characteristic of being persistent and non-yielding.

Making mistakes is not and should not be considered as an embarrassing thing. Everybody makes mistakes and people have evolved and developed by overcoming their mistakes. The history also proves that mistakes allowed our would to be brightened by light bulbs, so rather than trying to just forget about the mistakes you make, it is better to try to face your mistakes and learn from them.

Are we friend?

In the darkest hours of my day

She shines the bright light on my way

When I’m stuck in a pool of miserable tainting

She comforts me with the voice full of enjoyable chanting

Oh, the truest of the true

Yeah, the strongest of the strong

Shall we stay as friends forever?

Or shall I try and do something clever?

Even when my heart is breaking down to pieces

It’s put back together with the friendship she releases

However sometimes I merely wish for

Something a little more than just friends for

Oh, the truest of the true

Yeah, the strongest of the strong

Shall we stay as friends forever?

Or shall I try and do something clever?

Should abortion be allowed? (Term Paper)

Term Paper

Should abortion be allowed?

42 two million abortions take place each year throughout the world, which means that 115,000 unborn babies get discarded every day. Abortion can take place anytime between the very start and the very end of pregnancy. However, the most preferred period of abortion is when the fetus is not yet 18-week old. The definition of abortion is ‘any of various surgical methods for terminating a pregnancy’, and this is a perfect definition for abortion, because the process of abortion indeed actually includes ‘any’ possible surgical methods to kill the fetus in order to terminate the pregnancy. The abortionists literally cut the fetuses into pieces, which oftentimes include decapitations, and suck out the remaining pieces of the unborn babies from the mother’s womb with a vacuum machine. There are many other horrific ways of aborting a fetus with burning poisons and brooding knives, so in order to stop these kinds of unspeakable butchering to take place, abortion should be prohibited.

People say that abortion is the most humane and moral way to save an unwanted child from many possible sufferings, which will ruin the child’s life. They claim with their abstract beliefs that if a child is born into this world without the willing support of his or her parents, he or she will live a miserable life. Then, they, themselves even make the decision of whether the child should live or die. People say that they are just respecting the decision of the child’s parents and if the parents want their child to be aborted, there is no problem with abortion. However, a fetus inside a mother’s womb is alive and breathing just like one of us, so an unborn fetus deserves to be respected and treated as a human being. Nobody is allowed to decide whether the baby should live or die other than the baby himself. As it is a very serious and horrifying crime to murder an innocent person, killing a fetus should be considered as an equally serious and immoral crime against humanity.

In the first place, abortion wouldn’t have become such a major phenomenon around the world if parents were responsible and mature enough to control their behaviors. The major reasons for women to choose abortion are financial instability and fear of becoming a single mother. The major reasons for men to agree upon abortion are also financial instability and fear of becoming responsible for their children. Parents, who decide to have an abortion, say that they are doing the right thing to do, because it would be irresponsible to give birth to a child, who they cannot appropriately raise and support. However, their lack of consideration and care, when it comes to their sex life, is far more irresponsible than their puny excuses. If those parents cared so much about their children’s happy lives, they would never even think of killing their own children in order to hide their childish and irresponsible mistakes. Sacrificing an innocent baby because of some selfish excuses from parents is both morally and logically unacceptable.

There are many different types of abortion surgeries and the right ones are chosen, considering how old the fetus is. An actually physical surgery can take place when the baby becomes big enough to be recognized as a fetus. During the first twelve weeks after the fecundation takes place, Suction Aspiration method and Dilation and Curettage method are used to carry out the abortion surgeries. Suction Aspiration method is basically about sucking out the fetus from the mother’s womb with a vacuum machine, which is about 29 times stronger than the house vacuum cleaner. The fetus basically gets torn apart by the vacuum machine and gets discarded. Dilation and Curettage method is similar to Suction Aspiration method except that the abortionist manually cuts the fetus into pieces with a hook-shaped knife and scrapes out the pieces through the cervix.

As the fetus gets older, his or her bone structures become more solid and rigid, requiring an abortion process to include more extreme procedures. When the fetus becomes 18 week-old, Dilation and Evacuation method and Salt Poisoning method are used during the abortion process. Dilation and Evacuation method requires the abortionist to use a pair of forceps to crush the skull, break the spine, and twist other parts of the fetus in order to remove the pieces more easily. When this method is carried out and the pieces of the fetus are removed, vivid marks of severe bruises can be found on the fetus’s ripped up body parts. This indicates that the fetus struggles to get away from the forceps as the fetus’s body is getting torn apart into pieces. Salt Poisoning method can cause even more severe pain to the fetus than Dilation and Evacuation method. A long needle injects a strong salt solution through the mother’s abdomen into the baby’s sac and burns the entire surface of the fetus’s skin. The solution also poisons the baby when he or she drinks it and it takes over an hour for the baby to die.

Some adults say that there is no problem with abortion because the law states that a fetus is not considered legally as a human being as long as it is not born. They say that unborn fetuses do not have the basic human rights because the law says so. However, what really matters is morality. People have been using morality as a guideline to make and change the law. The very basic and the most important aspect, which separates us, the civilized humans, from other animals, is morality and tolerating abortion is the same thing as throwing away our own morality and becoming a savage. Unborn babies are very much alive. They feel pain just like us even when the abortionists are tearing them apart by force. There is no difference between an infant and an unborn fetus. If there is any, it is that the infant had a chance to see his or her mother when the unborn fetus could not.

Abortion is cruel and wrong. The procedures of abortion are extremely gruesome and unethical. Unborn fetuses do not get anesthetized before the abortionists start cutting them up into pieces, so they feel everything throughout the surgery. Abortion is not only cruel and gruesome, but it is also immoral. Babies are not some things that we can create and destroy whenever we want, according to our personal problems. It is morally unacceptable for parents to have an abortion after they created a life just because they do not want the baby. Also, legal justification of abortion, saying that unborn fetuses are not considered as human beings, is morally controversial. Every single human being living in this world today was once a fetus, which means that unborn babies are not different from any of us. They are human beings just like us and should be treated equally by granting them with their basic rights. There are also multiple deadly side effects, which can seriously hurt the mothers. By accommodating all the reasons above, abortion should be prohibited due to its cruelty and immorality. Instead of aborting their children, the parents should seek for alternatives, such as sending them to an orphanage or finding some people, who are willing to adopt the children. Either way, it would be better than slaughtering the babies without even providing them with some chances.

Debate: THBT covert operations to overthrow a malicious government doing harm to its own people would be justifiable.

THBT covert operations to overthrow a malicious government doing harm to its own people would be justifiable.

  1. National sovereignty
  2. The continuity of policies
  3. Covert operations are acts of personal gain. Abuse of power

I’m the deputy leader of opposition and I will be elaborating on our second and third points.

Our second point is that if there is an outer intervention to a country in a revolution or uprising, it is likely that the continuity of policies or something that the revolution achieved would not last long. The people of the country will rely on the outer force and will become dependent upon the outer intervention. However, if that becomes the case, when the so called, ‘outer force’ moves out of the country, the people in the country will be devastated because they haven’t learned how to govern and manage themselves. It is really hard for inexperienced groups of people to be independent and govern their country when the outer force achieved everything for the people of that country. For example, after the Korean War, Seung Man Lee became the first president of South Korea. He was mainly appointed by the US high officials and the country of South Korea and its people were too dependent on US, so we believed that everything was going to be well. However, it did not go well. Seung Man Lee became a tyrant, who restrained people from attaining true democracy by controlling the press and the election for presidency. People had to form a nationwide riot against him in order to subvert the corrupt government and many people died in the process.

Our last point is that covert operations done by other countries are often acts of personal gain and serve as abuse of power. Countries’ priorities are benefits of themselves and their own citizens. It is extremely unlikely for the countries to volunteer to help other countries without concerning about the merits that they can get from helping. Stronger countries help out the weaker countries in order to gain their trust and oftentimes take advantage of the weaker countries by abusing their power. Also, stronger countries, worrying about their own merits, become extremely selective about who to help and who not to help. For example, United States of America did not hesitate to send the military in to take out Kadafi and his regime. This is because, Kadafi was against United States and by taking out Kadafi, US could stay in Libya, saying that they need to help the people until they find the new leader and settle in with their new system. This could serve as a good excuse to stay in Libya and appoint someone who is in favor of US as the new leader. However, in the case of Egypt, when the people of Egypt tried to overthrow the former president, Hosni Mubarak, who proved himself as an obvious tyrant by staying as the president of Egypt for several decades by faking elections and killing the protesters by using military, United States did not take any action because the former president of Egypt was supportive of US.

These are the two points and these two points obviously prove that covert operations as an outer interference should not be tolerated.

Michael Jordan

Who Michael Jordan really is and what he did to influence the world of basketball?

Michael ‘the air’ Jordan of Chicago Bulls is, without a doubt, the most influential figure in the history of National Basketball Association, and brought tremendous change to the game of basketball. He is certainly one of the best players of all times and he is also an extremely successful commercial model who developed to be a very wealthy businessman. MJ (Michael Jordan) is also an idol and a role model for many current basketball players and other athletes. MJ might look like a flawless and perfect person for all the things he has achieved throughout his life. However, even a superstar like MJ went through devastating hardships and challenges. He was confronted with multiple problems in his life, but he managed to overcome them with strong will and perseverance, which tells us that Michael Jordan was as human as any other ordinary person of his time. Despite the fact that he was an exceptionally talented athlete, Michael Jordan had to really push himself to the limit and always try as hard as he could in order to overcome the hardships he faced. MJ is a legendary basketball player who renovated the game of basketball, but before that, he was an outstanding person who truly inspired others with his work ethics and leader-like characteristics.

Michael Jordan’s childhood was not very different from other people’s childhoods. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 17, 1963. MJ’s father, James Jordan was a mechanic and MJ’s mother, Deloris Jordan was a bank teller. Shortly after Michael’s birth, his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina where he spends his entire childhood, playing basketball and baseball under his father’s supervision. James Jordan wanted his son to become a professional baseball player, but Michael showed far greater interest in basketball. He was very passionate about the game and always practiced basketball with his brothers in the backyard when MJ was young. By the time he became a high school student, his skills have improved tremendously, so in his sophomore year, he decided to try out for the varsity team. MJ was extremely confident and had no doubt about making the varsity team in his high school. However, MJ failed to make the varsity team because he was raw and undersized. His passion for the game started to diminish after the try out and he almost quit striving forward after his self-esteem plunged to the ground.

One day, MJ’s mother told him that if he puts all his energy into playing basketball and showing his passion for the game rather than sitting in the corner and whining, the coach of the team would someday acknowledge his hard work. From that day on, Michael started to help out the team with whatever he could do. He wiped the gym floor and the basketballs every day after the team finished practicing. He ran drills and suicides with the team on the sidelines everyday and stayed after the practice in order to improve his shooting skills. Michael worked endlessly to help out the team and improve his skills in basketball without a single complaint and eventually made the varsity team in the following summer. His hard work paid off as he averaged 25 points per game and was selected to the McDonald’s All-American team as a senior. MJ was far from being the best player in the team at the beginning. He really had to work and train tirelessly in order to become who he was during his high school years.

Following high school, he earned a basketball scholarship from North Carolina University where he would play under legendary coach Dean Smith. The effort and hard work that Michael put in during his high school years really paid off in college. In his first year, MJ was named ACC Freshman of the Year. He would help lead the North Carolina Tarheels to the 1982 NCAA Championship, making the game-winning shot. After winning the Naismith College Player of the Year award in 1984, Jordan decided to leave North Carolina and enter the NBA draft. Although he decided to leave college early, he would later return to the university in 1986 to complete his degree in geography. Even with his amazing records and accomplishments in his college, MJ was referred as a bad defensive player and a bad shooter. In order to overcome these weaknesses MJ refused to be an offence-only dunk machine and practiced shooting and defending over and over again.

In the 1984 NBA draft, he was selected with the third overall pick by the Chicago Bulls. As a rookie for the Bulls, he made an immediate impact, averaging an amazing 28.2 points a game, including six games where he scored 40 plus points. He was selected to the NBA All-Star Game and named Rookie of the Year. This would just be the beginning of his career filled with awards and accolades. In the upcoming years, he would go on to win five regular season MVP awards, six NBA championships, six NBA finals MVP awards, three All-Star game MVP awards, and a defensive player of the year award. Considering the fact that he was referred as one of the worst defensive players in his college, we can really see the effort he put in to become a better defensive player. Moreover, he scored more than half of his points by shooting and his shooting skills oftentimes saved his team from losing during the last minute of the game.

In 1993, tragedy struck Jordan’s seemingly perfect life. On July 23, 1993, his father, James Jordan, was murdered off Interstate 95 in North Carolina. Two locals had robbed him, shot him in the chest and threw his body in a swamp. Three months later on October 6, 1993, following a run of three consecutive NBA championships, Jordan announced his retirement from basketball saying that “he no longer had the desire to play.” MJ’s father always encouraged Michael in hard times and he was probably the only one that Michael could really reveal his weaknesses and rely upon. Losing his father meant that from that time on, Michael had to really stand and fight alone through the hardships. Retired at age 33, it was uncertain what Michael would do next. Would he take a year off out of the public eye to grieve and then come back to the Bulls? Would he go out and look for an office job in the field of geography, his college major? Or would he take up a completely different hobby like golf? The answer was neither of them. Michael started playing baseball and signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox in 1994. Everyone was wandering if Michael had gone crazy, but MJ was just doing what his father and he discussed about after winning his 2nd consecutive NBA championship.

Michael’s father wanted him to consider playing baseball, which Michael started playing when he was 6 years old and played until he was a junior in high school. Michael had not been playing baseball for nearly 15 years, so he had hard time adapting into the sport and some people even said that Michael Jordan was degrading the game of baseball. However, despite all the hateful comments MJ received from the critiques, he kept on trying and worked tirelessly to get better at baseball. He was always the last one to leave the batting cage and the first one to arrive at the batting cage. In the interview, MJ said, “I wake up in the morning, shower up, and make myself some breakfast. Then I get in my car and drive down to the spring baseball camp. I look to my side and I see my father sitting next to me and smiling at me. And I say, we are doing this pop, we are doing this together.” Michael became the Designated Hitter in the team and hit some big hits and few home runs throughout the rest of his career as a baseball player. MJ’s father’s love towards Michael was what really kept MJ going despite all the hardships and without his father’s love, Michael would not be standing as the greatest basketball player of all-time.

On March 18, 1995, Michael Jordan, a man of few words since his retirement, sent two important words to media sources everywhere: “I’m Back.” He celebrated his return to the NBA by doing what he always did best: winning. However, he realized that he was not exactly the same superstar that he was 2 years ago when the Bulls lost in the playoffs to the Orlando Magic. Michael was devastated to lose his confidence and skills in basketball, so he started doing what he always did when he faced a challenge: practicing over and over again. Eventually, like he always did, he overcame the challenge and led the Bulls to three more consecutive NBA championships, etching his place in the history as the “NBA’s greatest player of all-time”. Michael Jordan officially retired from the Bulls on January 13, 1999. He was a great player and a great person at the same time. After his retirement, he managed to find golf as his new hobby and became part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats in June 2006.
Michael Jordan was famous for being a very skilled and finesse player, but he was equally famous for being the renovator of the style in basketball. Back in his time, all the NBA and other minor league players wore tight shorts that came well above the knees. However, Michael refused to follow the old custom and started wearing baggy shorts that came down the knees. He paid regular fines for not following the NBA dress code, but he kept on wearing the shorts, which influenced other players to wear them too. By the end of 1980s almost every player in NBA wore baggy shorts, which eventually changed the dress code of NBA. MJ was also the first professional basketball player to ever shave his head completely. Shaving one’s head completely was considered unorthodox and somewhat ridiculous. However, if you look at the famous professional basketball players’ hair styles today, such as Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’neal, many of them have shaved their heads.

Michael Jordan also changed the style of playing tremendously. All the coaches back then emphasized fundamental basketball so much that there was almost no freedom of style in basketball. Michael Jordan broke this customary basketball and started to put some life into the game of basketball. He showed the world what double-clutch layup was. He shook people’s minds with his stylish dunks. He made people’s jaws drop with his unstoppable fade-away shots. Michael Jordan basically created a whole different game of basketball with his god-given talents and creativeness. All the mind-blowing dunks, layups, and fade-away shots from players like Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwyane Wade, were originated from the moves that Michael Jordan regularly used. He also became a successful businessman by opening a sub-brand, Nike Jordan, for Nike and did some great charity works with the fortune he made. He contributed a lot to make the game of basketball better known all around the world by becoming a famous commercial icon of basketball and also made several donations in order to enhance the public accessibility of basketball, such as building sports centers with good facilities for public to use.

Michael Jordan was an admirable man. He was an exceptional athlete and a strong-hearted person. He was definitely not a perfect man, but he always worked hard to be as perfect as he could be. He was not much different from us and we should realize that he is a man of hard work. Michael Jordan always challenged himself and showed the world that nothing is impossible if you work endlessly to break the challenge. He was also a loving man who gave hopes to people in difficult situations by visiting them and volunteering for charity. Michael Jordan changed the world both physically and mentally. He renovated the game of basketball and contributed greatly in the globalization of basketball as a famous icon. Michael Jordan also challenged the history of basketball and successfully broke the world records with his mental toughness and physical talents. Even a superstar like Michael Jordan suffered unbearable hardships throughout his life and it is amazing enough to change the world to see how he endeavored to overcome the hardships and eventually be the greatest.

I wrote the same essay as I did for the disequilibrium essay.

After watching the CNN news about the bombing, occurring in Syria, I took some time to really ponder about what people are going through in Syria and why they are being treated so harshly by their own government. I mean, sure the current president of Syria wants to protect his power and dominance over the country, but if we look at the very root of what the country is, we can see that the government of Syria is being too extreme and prejudicial. Talking about the root of the country, it is true that the basic ideals about the country changed over ages. However, in these days, the very root of a country is considered as the people of the country, which means that the government of Syria is actually trying to destroy itself.

The specific area, which is getting bombed, is considered by the government as the fortress of terrorists and activists. However, there are people living in that area, who did not participate in the revolutionary movement and according to CNN, these kinds of irrelevant people are suffering and dying from the bombing. Innocent children, helpless elders, and irrelevant youngsters have been injured and killed due to reckless attacks from the government. This obviously cannot be considered as fair and equal, meaning that there is a definitely existing disequilibrium in the Syrian society.

I believe there are several ways to solve this disequilibrium occurring in Syria. The most idealistic method to solve this problem would be building a bridge between the government of Syria and the activists. Different opinions from the activists and the government created a conflict, which eventually led to this tragedy among the country. By building a bridge and helping them to understand each other, the activists and the government would be able to successfully reach a peaceful solution. However, it is too much of an idealistic event to take place when there is already large number of people, who have been sacrificed and killed due to the bombing. Hatred towards the government of Syria already grew too big in people’s hearts, so mutual understanding for peaceful solution became almost impossible to find.

Considering the most realistic solution to solve the disequilibrium in Syria, I reached a conclusion that certain amount of military intervention from other countries is necessary in order to stop further destruction of the town. Many innocent people already became victims of the power game between the government and the activists, and the first priority of an intervention should be rescuing people, who are not involved in the movement. This bombing in Syria really shocked me, because I have never experienced any forceful aggression from my country’s government. Korea, my home country, is a relatively well – established democratic country, so I really could not imagine my own government quarantining and bombing my town. I really hope that by writing  this essay, I can somehow contribute in any way to quickly solve the conflict in Syria.

North Korean Nuclear Development

Currently, North Korean threat of its third nuclear weapon’s experiment became the center of attention in global society. Just about a month ago, North Korean government denounced any possibility of an expansion in their nuclear weapons program, not long before United States captured a satellite picture, which depicted possible on-going development of nuclear weapons. This satellite picture intensified the relationship between the international community (as US likes to refer as) and North Korea and eventually led the North Korean authoritarian regime to announce that North Korea will continue with the nuclear developmental program.

This kind of international conflict, involving weapons of mass destruction, can bring upon devastating consequences to the world itself, so the conflicting countries have to be thoughtful of  each other and come to a peaceful compromise. There are multiple causes of this problem and the main ones include authoritative and cantankerous attitude of US towards North Korea and disorder within North Korean government due to Kim Jung Un’s abrupt succession of his father, Kim Jung Il.

In order to find peaceful resolutions for this crisis, US and North Korea have to come to a mutual understanding of each other and try to respect one another in order to guarantee each other’s benefit and peace over the world. US’s nuclear intervention of North Korea was reasonable because a country possessing a nuclear weapon can be a serious threat, if abused by malicious government. However, US must respect the sovereignty of North Korea after the country’s authoritarian regime has declared that it would stop the nuclear development. Also, North Korea has to understand US’s position and show trustworthy evidence in order to persuade the world that North Korea is no longer a threat.

This is a picture of Michael Jordan and his father, James Jordan, when Michael won the first NBA championship game. He won total of 6 NBA championship games and 5 all-star NBA MVP awards, but this picture shows that even a super star like MJ goes through countless hardships and sufferings. This picture also shows how his father was always there for him when MJ really needed some support. Michael Jordan is a representative figure in the field of basketball and he is considered as one of the top three basketball players who ever set a foot on Earth. This picture was very inspiring and freshly shocking because I could see a human-like side of Michael Jordan, who I picked as my role model in the field of sports.
